Iron Lotus is ready when you are.
How to play
Iron Lotus is an original feudal-Japan beat-em-up. When a warlord seizes the daimyō's daughter to force a marriage that would hand him the province, three sworn protectors set out after her — through a burning village, lantern-lit castle town, a forge lit with molten light, and a rope bridge over misty rapids, all the way to the warlord's keep.
Choose your protector: the Shinobi, a balanced fighter with a short-sword combo and a dash-through strike; the Kunoichi, fastest on her feet, with a chain-kick string and a wall-spring dive; or the Sōhei, a slow, heavy bruiser who grapples, piledrives, and slams the ground.
Combat lives on the depth lane: you move freely along and into the scene, and a strike lands only when you and your target share the same depth. Chain four-step combos, juggle airborne enemies up to a hard limit, grab and throw, and smash breakables for food and weapons.
Every defeated enemy earns EXP. Six level segments raise your health and unlock your moves as you fight through five rounds and fifteen stages to the warlord's keep.
The story
Iron Lotus opens on a prologue, follows the princess between rounds, and closes on an epilogue. Every story beat is skippable, and every scene remains a readable card when reduced motion is on.
A PROVINCE, PROMISED
The daimyō's word held the valley together. His daughter's hand was the seal on it, and every lord from the harbour to the pass knew whose it was to give.
TAKEN AT MIDNIGHT
The warlord did not ask. His men came through the village with torches, and by the time the smoke lifted they were three ridges gone, and she was with them.
THREE WENT AFTER HER
A shinobi, a kunoichi and a sōhei took the mountain road before dawn. Five strongholds lie between the valley and the warlord's keep. They did not discuss turning back.
ONE RIDGE AHEAD
At the village edge, a gold sleeve vanished through the smoke. The warlord's procession had already taken the lantern road.
THE LAST LANTERN
Beneath the last town lantern, the princess looked back once before the riders turned toward the forge. By the time the three reached the gate, only hoofprints remained.
BEYOND THE FORGE
Beyond the forge's red glow, her pale sleeve flashed between iron-clad guards. The procession was already descending toward the river.
ACROSS THE BLACK WATER
Across the black water, the princess stood beneath the warlord's banner as the far boat touched shore. Above her, the Keep closed its gates.
The ending is below. Skip to Controls if you would rather find it in the game.
THE KEEP CAME DOWN
The warlord fell on his own roof, in front of his own banners, with the province still unsigned. Nobody carried him anywhere.
HOME BEFORE THE SEAL
They brought her back down the mountain road with a day to spare. The province stayed her father's, the valley kept its word, and the lotus on the gate was iron again.
