HOW TO PLAY

Gold Miner rules: drop the claw, beat the goal

Gold Miner is the classic arcade mining game. The claw swings over the dirt on its own, you drop it at the right moment, and you have sixty seconds to haul up enough treasure to beat the level goal. Gold nuggets and diamonds pay the most. Heavy rocks pay almost nothing and drag back up so slowly that they can cost you the level.

The goal climbs every round, starting at $650 and reaching $15,275 on the tenth and final level of the classic campaign. Between levels the shop sells dynamite, a strength drink, a lucky clover, a rock book, and diamond polish, so the money you bank up front buys speed and value later. Keep a stick of dynamite in reserve: firing it while the claw is hauling a rock clears the line and gets you back to swinging.

You can play Gold Miner online free in any browser, solo or with a second player. It works in portrait and landscape with touch, mouse, and keyboard controls, so a phone, a tablet, and a desktop all get the same game.

CONTROLS

Gold Miner controls: touch, mouse, keyboard

touch

Tap Drop when the claw points toward your target.
Tap Dynamite while hauling an unwanted item to destroy it.
In local two-player, each miner uses their own large Drop and Dynamite controls.
Use Pause, Sound, Effects, and Restart below the playfield.

Click Drop or Dynamite for Player 1; local two-player exposes a second control pair.
Click shop items between levels, then Continue when ready.

Down Arrow — Player 1 drop
Up Arrow — Player 1 dynamite
S / W — Player 2 drop / dynamite
P or Escape — pause; M — mute; R — restart

PLAY MODES

Play Gold Miner solo, two player, or online

Mine alone against the level goal, or share one screen with a second player. Local two-player gives each side its own large Drop and Dynamite controls, so a single phone or tablet works for both miners. To play Gold Miner online with someone else, send a private invite link or get matched with another miner looking for a game.

The classic Gold Miner game, rebuilt for the browser

This edition is rebuilt from the source of the original game, so the claw swing, treasure values, rock weights, level goals, shop, and sounds behave the way the classic arcade mining game did. What changed is the delivery: it runs on phones, tablets, and computers with no plugin and nothing to install.
